Watercolor Basics
Just getting started or need a refresher? This is the perfect class for you! Exercises will be simple and structured for building skills in coloring and controlling the medium. This is a great course to get introduced to or reacquainted with the medium. Tuesdays, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.October 13 to November 17-6 sessions. $120
Watercolor Alternative Techniques
Class assignments will be structured with a step-by-step approach both from photo references and still life. Students will learn how to build a painting by layering washes and by using multiple techniques to build a skillful final. Tuesdays, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Painting with Acrylic
This beginner course will teach students how to get started on a painting, color mixing, application, and techniques used with acrylic paint. Working from still life, students will also strengthen observation skills that can be applied to future work. Tuesdays, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.October 13 to November 17-6 sessions.

Melodee is an employee at
Utrecht who also works as a freelance illustrator and educator. She is currently teaching at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Her work is published in 16 children’s books, 6 of which have received Moonbeam and Teachers’ Choice Awards.
