Current Mix and Match Sales:  A couple of great opportunities to stock up on some of our most popular painting items.

Garden & Bird Sanctuary on Saturday, May 31st, 10 AM to 2PM.

-We’ll meet at the store at 9:30 and drive to the garden.  Many of the wildflowers will be at their peak and should provide some wonderful painting subjects.  You may choose to follow us to the garden or meet us in the parking lot at the gardens. 

The paint out is fun, free and casual.  You do not have to be an experienced plein air painter to participate!

For those who would like instruction, Michele Combs will be joining us to offer demos and one-on-one instruction.  This instruction is $35 for the day.  Let us know asap if you are interested!

Please call the store at 612-339-3400 or email us if you’d like to participate.  We’ll bring water, treats and paint samples for all those who register!!! 

New Products:  We are proud to announce the addition of a great new selection of Painting Panels.

-Oil Primed Linen Panels:  The wait is over! We have our new “Master’s” Belgian linen hand oil primed panels in stock.  These have our special neutral white tone ground and are attached with Archival Glue.  The sizes range from 5×7 to 18×24.  Because they are oil primed, they are not suitable for acrylic painting and should only be used with oils.  Prices range from $5.99 to $29.99

-Baroque Artist Wood Panels:  These are unprimed, cradled, wood panels that can be primed as you like.  We have them in many sizes from 4×6″ to12×16″.  They are presently on sale with amazing prices ranging from $2.99 to $9.99.

-New Ampersand Display with Gessobord, Hardboard, Claybord, and the new Artist Panels:  We have tripled the size of our Ampersand display giving us the largest display in the
Midwest.  Now we carry almost every product Ampersand makes!  Be sure to check out the new Aquabord that is a great for watercolor.

Plein Air Landscape Painting: 

The experience of painting outside with nature as your guide is an excellent learning experience and is always an adventure! 

If you have always wanted to try to paint outside, this is an excellent opportunity to learn in a fun and relaxing environment. The focus of the class will be to compose a design, paint accurate values, mix colors and capture light as the impressionists did!  Michele will provide demonstrations and individual feedback. Students are free to work in oils, acrylics, or watercolor.

Please join us for MOAB Digital Day on March 7th from 10 AM-1 PM.  Greg Shern, the founder of MOAB paper will discuss Fine Art Digital printing covering many subjects including basic color management, using  ICC profiles, choosing the right paper, and selecting printers.  We’ll have some snacks and plenty of time ask specific questions.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who showed up to the opening last night!  We had a great turn out, great food and a fantastic time.  Hope you enjoyed the work, and learned a little bit about your friends at Utrecht!  Thank you to all.
